“Let The Light Seep Within”

Standard

If there is light in the soul,

There will be beauty in the person.

If there is beauty in the person,

There will be harmony in the house.

If there is harmony in the house,

There will be order in the nation.

If there is order in the nation,

There will be peace in the world.

-Chinese proverb

Once again I share what I believe to be true in my own life. I cannot change you, and you cannot change me, but we can be examples by the way we live our lives. Peace can only begin with me and you. But how do we create it within ourselves unless we crack open enough to let the light seep within us. When the light of God fills my soul I know I am whole again. It’s in that wholeness that the light of Divinity shines through you and me. And the peace and harmony we long for begins to filter through us into our homes, our community, our nation and the world.

Peace be with you my friends!

“Grace”

Standard

Today I was reading about Grace. Not the person, but it’s many meanings. The very sound of the word congers up thoughts of beauty. “Amazing Grace how sweet thy name,” comes to mind. I once knew a friend who called God, Grace by name because it better expressed the gentle loving Creator she came to know in her life. Grace means many different things in the English language, religions, and to each individual. As I look up the word in Google I realize I could write a book on the subject itself. So I’ll just stick to what it’s come to mean to me in my life.

I have learned that God is not as complicated as we make Him. I experience His grace each time I remember that we are inner connected. He is not off somewhere apart from me. It is in Him, through Him, and with Him, that I am the authentic person He created me to be. It’s where I find my purpose, and everything falls together as it is meant to be. His grace is always sufficient, and the only time it becomes difficult is when I forget who I really am.

“Interweaving into Oneness”

Standard

I don’t think we ever stop growing spiritually once we start down that path. However, sometimes trying to explain the profound insights that God gives us is like speaking another language. Even to fully understand it for myself I need to bring it into some kind of visual form like a metaphor. I know what it feels like to be One with God. I experience it when the self and spirit work together and there is no longer any separation between us. This Oneness takes work because what the spirit already understands the humanness might not. It is the human part of me that needs that visual in order to pull it together…at least for me anyway.
Mark Nepo likens this oneness to the nautical definition of marry, “to join two ropes end to end by interweaving their strands.” He goes on to say, “that just as two ropes that are married create a tie that is twice as strong, when we marry our humanness to our spirit, we create a life that is double strong in the world.”*

I would add that when we interweave the self with spirit we become who we were created to be…our true selves.
