“The Sunshine Blogger Award”

Standard

I’m extremely honored and humbled to have been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger award by http://fauxcroft.wordpress.com/ Thank you Fauxcroft! You certainly lite up my day.

What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

The Sunshine Blogger is an award for bloggers from bloggers. It’s a way of recognizing bloggers who are positive, creatively and inspiring. I love the term Sunshine because it truly represents what I want my blog to bring to my readers. I think about when we hand someone a gift we have the opportunity to see in their face how much they appreciate it or not. When we write and put it out there we don’t always know who reads it or if it’s made a difference. So to be nominated for this award makes me feel like I’m accomplishing what I set out to do. My goal is simple to touch one person with a little bit of love and inspiration. Then I know I’ve made a difference in someone’s life, and maybe I’ve contributed to making the world a little bit better while I’m here.

Do check out http://fauxcroft.wordpress.com/ who nominated me for this award. The blog is amazing, inspirational, and full of thought provoking insight worth checking out and following.

These are the questions I was asked to answer:

1-Which part of the globe do you come from and what made you start your blog?

U.S. Pennsylvania

2-A special message which you received that holds special place for you?

As I was trying to be the best Christian I could by going to church, studying the bible doing everything I thought I was supposed to. One day the word simplify kept popping off the pages from the bible like neon sign. I realized with time that I was making things more difficult than they were meant to be. That simple word has lead me to a more peaceful place and what it means to be connected to God.

3-Your Favorite Movies?

Splendor in The Grass 1961 love story with Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty

4-Things about friends/siblings you love and annoy?

The things I love are the times we sit and laugh, when we have amicable conversations.

What annoys me is when I’m in the middle of a conversation and they start talking to someone else as if I don’t notice.

5-Qualities you love about yourself?

I believe in everyone, and always try to look for the best in them.

6-Your motive in life?

To keep bringing myself back to my true-self which exist in the place of connection and oneness with God! When I am in this place of belonging everything comes together as it should be and I do my best writing.

7-Craziness you would like to do in life that you were not able to do?

I would have loved to of traveled the world more, maybe even lived in another country like Italy for a while.

8-Your birthday? (so that I can wish you: p)

January 27

9-What does your name mean?

My real name is Constance it means to be constant.

10-Any topic which I should write as my next post?

How about what simplify means to you.

Nominees – Here are the set of questions for you:

1-What is your goal in life?

“That Gut Feeling”

Standard

It can be difficult to form a concrete understanding when we’re trying to make an informed decision. There is often as many good reasons as there are bad reasons on a subject. So how do I decide which way to go?

I think that’s where our intuition comes into play. It’s that gut feeling that will tell us which way feels right. It will also twist us into knots when we choose what goes against us. Our intuition holds a special place in which our beliefs and values lie. It’s representative of our true-selves.

Now some would say you don’t need all this, just turn to God and He’ll give you the answers. I won’t argue with that. I just like knowing that the person God created me to be has the ability to use the gifts He’s blessed me with. Because He created me after all. Gave me a brain to use. The freedom of choices, along with many tools like intuition, emotions and my senses to make the best informed decision. Then He simple responds to me by asking, “what does your gut tell you? That my dear friends is where our individual unique personifies are able to exercise what only we ourselves were created to do.

“Taking A Time Out”

Standard

I’ve been working hard at gaining my strength back after having two sinus surgerys within a three month time period. Pushing myself daily to move and get back to the living. I had a good two days this week even doing some exercises and this morning I had to drag myself out of bed. So as I think about what I’m going to write today my brain goes blank. All I can think about is how I feel. So as I read Mr. Rogers quote I feel encouraged by his words; “Life isn’t perfect on any front-and doing what we can with what we have is the most we should expect of ourselves.”

Today this is my best, and I feel ok with that!

“A Purpose All My Own”

Standard

When I was growing up, to hear that I was pleasant, pretty, good or worthy in anyway was a no-no. Being ok with who we were in anyway was considered selfish, and that might make us into a conceded person.

Then I married a guy who could see nothing but the goodness and beauty in me. He couldn’t understand why I didn’t see what he saw, and I couldn’t understand why he didn’t see what I really was according to my standards. It wasn’t until I began to understand how uniquely God made me as well as everyone else, that I could begin to entertain the thought that I had a purpose all my own. That made me special all by itself I realized. When your mind opens up to a new understanding a shift takes place in us creating a change. I could remain where I was stuck in the place of nothingness or move forward into my purpose driven life. I stepped out in blind faith. Doing what I always wanted to, but never believed enough in to actual do it.

Wayne W. Dyer puts it best when he says, “there’s a place deep within us that wants to feel fulfilled. That wants to know that I make a difference. That I’ve left this place, this planet that I’ve lived on better then when I arrived. That someone’s life has been profoundly touched because of my existence.”

Honestly, who doesn’t want to know that their life matters somehow?

It’s a long way off from what I was taught, but I can finally say I’m happy to know that my existence counts for something. By being the person I was created to be means that I can touch someone else’s life in a positive way, and that’s a good thing I can live with. It’s not about me or you, but about allowing ourselves to be the best version of who we were created to be. Because in doing that we become an extension of God reaching out touching each other, making a difference, and it all comes through simple by being our true-selves.

“Words”

Standard

powerofwordswebb

In my reading today it was about the joy of words. It strikes me as a worthy subject to write about because of the passion I have for words.

Words allow us to find a way to bring our thoughts out of our minds. The word is expressed in our own creation. God thought first about what he wanted to create. Then that thought came forth expressed in a word, and that word became flesh. We are made in the same image and likeness as our creator. So we have the same ability to create in the small the same way as God creates in the big.

Our words allow us to communicate with our fellow humans as well as God’s other creations. Even plants are known to react positively to our words. Words don’t even have to be heard or spoken they can be understood through sign language, writing, reading and even through our actions as well as our senses. Wow! As I write this I’m discovering the vastness of words I never looked at before. Isn’t it amazing how something we’ve done all our life can be taken for granted. We don’t even realize the power our own words hold within them.

Just like all the tools we have to use in life. A hammer can be used to build things or destroy them. Our thoughts must find a way out of our minds, they want to create. So what we focus on, believe and entertain will find a way out, and when we open the gate to our mouth the words they express will come flying out.  They will create something positive, good and life giving, or negative, bad and destructives. We’ve been given a great gift. We should keep a watchful guard at the gate of our mouth making sure we don’t let any words out that don’t express who we really are. Our words are a mirror reflection of the life we create for ourselves. It’s kind of creepy if you think about it, because it gives others the opportunity to read our minds.

“The Puzzel Piece”

Standard

There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she
has a place to fill, and every piece must fit
itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.
-Deepak Chopra

I think that’s what we’re searching for as we wonder why am I here? What is my purpose?  What should I be doing with my life? Who am I, and how do I fit into the whole scheme of things. It is like having that one piece of the puzzle we can’t find the right spot for. We can’t force it to fit where it doesn’t belong. We have our own unique spot that can only be filled by us and if we don’t find it, the puzzle is left with an open whole. Our life is all about the adventure and search. When we begin to see our place, we are able to stand back and see how it all comes together.

“Falling Like A Leaf”

Standard

As I’ve journeyed through my faith walk, I have experienced many ways to God. I wanted to be a part of something I could believe in. I knew once I found it I would be a true believer, and live it through my everyday life. But nothing seemed enough, not church, bible studies, the charismatic movement and so many other things I tried within the boundaries of religion. There was just something missing, and one day I stepped out in faith, and left it all behind. I felt like a lonely leaf falling from a tree leaving behind all that I knew. As I lay stagnant upon the heaps of other dead leaves, the fall turned to winter and it was as if I was in a resting place of thought and contemplation. I often think that it was like Jesus’s 40 days in the desert. There were many fears, temptations, and guilt, but in order for the leaf to fall from the tree it must let go. To let go I had to trust in something bigger, and what could be bigger then God’s love. That was all the discernment I needed to let the wind blow me where it would. It blew me back to the simplicity of my childhood belief that God was my friend, and the only one that truly loved me. My journey is not over. Letting go was only a new beginning. I‘m still that falling leaf blowing in the wind learning and discovering everyday, but I don’t do it alone anymore, for I am the leaf and God is the wind and He carries me in His direction throughout the day.

“What Day Is It?

Standard

I am grateful to have opened my eyes to a brand new day. To see, to love, to hold and embrace. To learn and grow and discover all the beauty that lies behind the fear and ugliness that try’s to take  my joy away. Today I will choose love instead of fear.

Yes, as Piglet squeaked, “It’s today.”

“It’s my favorite day too, Pooh!”

“The Gift Of Giving”

Standard

IMG_0815“If you wish the world to become loving and compassionate, become loving and compassionate yourself. If you wish to diminish fear in the world, diminish your own. These are the gifts that you can give.”-Gary Zukav

I had a dream and in it I saw a tall stool. It had a green and black shawl neatly folded on the seat, and on top of that was a crown. As I walked over ready to sit down. I heard a voice that said, “stop.”

“Why?” I asked.

And the voice said, “you may sit after you’ve giving first.”

“Given what?” I asked.”

“Anything and everything just make sure it comes from the heart. Then each time you give sit upon the high stool that you may see the difference your efforts have made. Wrap the shawl around you that you may feel in the comfort you’ve given others, and wear the crown of glory that represents the gift of your efforts.”

Once again I say if we want to see the change, we have to be the change first. That is the one thing we know we can do something about, ourselves. It’s all about the boomerang effect. What we put out there comes back to us. Give and you shall receive…that is the gift.

“Let Me Do Good”

Standard

In the mist of all the fear, destruction and hopeless outlook. Stop right where you are and remember all the good that still remains in your life starting with the smallest things working your way up to the greatest. Love, peace, joy and hope all begin with us. Reach out and touch someone with a little spark of your own love, and spread all the goodness you can conger up for it is true we shall never pass this way again.

Sending love, peace and big hugs to all who read this.
