“Love is in The Air”

Picture from Birds & Bloom magazine March 2016

I picked up my Birds & Bloom magazine today and as I’m flipping through it I see the words ”Love is in the air. Look for stunning courtship displays as birds begin their springtime mating rituals.”

It reminded me of when I was in 7th grade. I had this very enthusiastic science teacher who would stand at the doorway of his classroom as we, his students meandered in. He said one day when a young man was teasing me in the hallway, “Oh boy! Love is in the air! It must be springtime.”

“What’s spring have to do with it?” I asked.

“It’s all about the birds and the bees,” he said as he closed the classroom door.

Needless to say I sat through the whole class wondering, what do birds have to do with bees, and what’s it got to love?
