That’s me! You don’t have to have a degree in philosophy to be a philosophical person. All that’s required is the faculty of wonder, and that I have plenty of. Like a child constantly asking “why,” I wonder about everything especially pertaining to knowledge, reality, and existence all within the framework of God’s amazing creative purpose. Notice, I don’t say plan because I don’t believe God has a plan all laid out. He simple creates with a purpose in Mind. My wonder is seeking what that purpose is there to revel to me. The wonder of life is not confined to the Bible alone. It is the Bible that should open and awaken us to the beauty and wonder that that is all around us. God’s Word is in all His creations, and He encourages us through his Word to… “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9
I enjoy my childlike wonder. I enjoy seeking the truth and finding assurance in the things I believe. Philosophy is the wonder of those things that cannot always be proven on a scientific level. They are the truths that can only be found within our inner knowing. I know only what I know up to this moment. What is exciting to me is that the knowing never stops reveling its depth of understanding. There is so much more to learn in my lifetime. Yet I am wise enough to know that I will never fully come to know all there is to knowing within my lifetime.
“In the true sense of the word being a philosopher is…One who loves wisdom.”
