At the beginning of the new year I made a commitment to myself that this would be the year I’d finish writing my story. I’ve been working on it for more than half my life, picking it up and putting it down. There isn’t any better time in my life to finish it then right now. However, I let everything else get in the way, and think of all the projects I have to do first.
Today in talking with a friend she reminded me of the advice I once gave her. To cut out a few hours a day of uninterrupted time to accomplish your most important goals. It’s the second time in the past two weeks that I’ve heard the same advice. I already know how to do this, but I let my mind become clouded by other things. What I’m really doing is procrastinating. Have you ever done that when you’re at the start of a big project. It seems overwhelming, but it only seems that way until we get started.
